How often does data sync?
You can run manual syncs at any time. When auto-sync is enabled, KyberAccess syncs with PowerSchool daily at 2:00 AM ET to minimize disruption.
Is the data transfer FERPA compliant?
Yes. All data transfers use TLS 1.3 encryption. We only sync the minimum data needed for visitor management (names, emails, phones, roles), and all data is stored in SOC 2 certified infrastructure.
Can I choose which data to sync?
Absolutely. You have granular control: choose which schools, person types (students, parents, staff), and data fields to sync. Map schools to specific KyberAccess sites.
What happens when a student is withdrawn?
On the next sync, withdrawn students (inactive enrollment status) are no longer included. Their associated contacts can be automatically deactivated in KyberAccess.
Do I need a special PowerSchool plugin?
You need a data access plugin with OAuth 2.0 authentication configured in PowerSchool. Your PowerSchool administrator can set this up from Plugin Management Configuration.
